Looking At The Brighter Side Of A Bad Day

My day is not even half over and I am ready for tomorrow! It has been quite the morning and I could let it bother me or move on and enjoy the day. It all started with my shower this morning; lets just say that I know what gravity feels like. I should have at that point realized it could be ” one of those days ” but it had just started. After taking my youngest daughter to school, my two older children start high school a little later so I arrived back at home to give them a ride. My son forgets his project but he brought his phone (only for emergencies pay as you go) and messaged me that he had forgotten his project. Being the stay at home dad that I am, I had no problem getting the project and bringing it to the school. Only one problem…. my SUV will not start.

I managed to get a ride from my neighbor, who is actually a client as well http://www.pkfproductions.com/ he was nice enough to give me a ride to drop of my son’s project. I decided that since its such a beautiful day here today to walk home. That was probably the best decision because it gave me time to reflect on the day so far and put things into perspective. First of all I am OK, my neck hurts from falling in the shower but  I will survive, my children are all at school and its Spring Break next week for them, and I will find out what is wrong and fix the issue with my vehicle, My wife called me and we talked about our day and she reminded me that we will get through this.

One thing I have always struggled with is seeing life in a positive form, or a better way of saying it; seeing the glass half full. It was always almost empty! Seeing life like that for me is not an option, I have a responsibility as a husband and father to make sure our home is just that, a home. One of the first things I did after getting home today was talk to a friend about what I am going through. Talking about my problems sure makes them feel less of that, a problem. I don’t have to let a few bad moments make me look at my entire day as a “Bad Day.” For me there could easily be a lot worse things to complain about. Starting this Blog helps me to put my life into perspective and make sure my priorities are in order.

Positive thinking is a mental and emotional attitude that focuses on the bright side of life and expects positive results.

A person with positive thinking anticipates happiness, health and success, and believes that he or she can overcome any obstacle and difficulty. Positive thinking is not a concept that everyone believes and follows. Some, consider it as nonsense, and scoff at people who follow it. However, there is a growing number of people, who accept positive thinking as a fact, and believe in its effectiveness. It seems that this subject is gaining popularity, as evidenced by the many books, lectures and courses about it. To use it in your life, you need more than just to be aware of its existence. You need to adopt the attitude of positive thinking in everything you do.
